SCCA’s Time Attack Season Isn’t Done Until Buttonwillow Says So

Did you think the Tire Rack SCCA® Time Attack Challenge season ended with the 2026 Tire Rack SCCA Time Attack National Championship in Texas? Think again, because the Challenge isn’t over, with the final event of the season taking place on the West Coast at Buttonwillow Raceway Park during the Nov. 14-15, 2026, weekend.

Here’s the thing: it’s a big one. The weekend will run on the 13CW configuration, which is the de facto Time Attack course in the U.S. Oh, and it just so happens to share the weekend with Global Time Attack’s (GTA) season finale.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, battling for class honors, or looking to finish the season strong, this is the place to put it all on the line – and you’ll know exactly where you stand leaving the weekend.

If two days aren’t enough, Friday features a dedicated test day hosted by GTA, giving participants valuable seat time to shake down new parts, fine-tune setups, and dial in their cars before competition begins. It’s the perfect opportunity to arrive confident and ready.

The weekend runs in the format that’s familiar to SCCA Time Attack participants. Saturday features a practice session followed by three timed sessions; Sunday adds two more sessions. The best time in the Time Attack 1 and Time Attack 2 periods are added together, and the lowest time wins.

But back to the layout: Buttonwillow’s 13CW is the ultimate “if you know, you know” course. Slow speed corners, mid speed turns, and fast, blind crests can all be found here. It’s become the ultimate proving ground, both for Time Attack drivers and beyond. If a race team or manufacturer wants to test something, it often happens on the 13 clockwise configuration.

Riverside, Cotton Corners, and Phil Hill are all legendary turns found on 13CW.
